Stay your blade from the flesh of the innocent, hide in plain sight, and never compromise the brotherhood. These are the three basic tenants of the Assassin Order. They are an organization that fights for peace, freedom for all, and growth of individuality. They fight for those who do not posses the knowledge or skill to stand against abusive leaders. They further their cause by assassinating anyone who stands in the way of freedom and peace. They believe that their killing is justified as long as the sacrifice of one prevents the sacrifice of thousands.

The cleaner and quieter the kill, the better. Stealth is their forte and the shadows are their protection.

They are the enemies of the formidable Templar Order. The Assassins do not want a New World Order where the freedom of mankind is non-existent. They want freedom, justice, and ultimately peace. And although murder is their method, their intentions are usually good. However, they are prone to extremism.

The sworn enemies of the Assassin Order, the Templar Order holds ideals that are in direct contradiction of what the Assassins fight for. They seek to create a "perfect world"(better known as a New World Order) by complete domination over humanity's freedom. They have an inherently pessimistic view of mankind, believing that if people are given free will, it only causes chaos and war. Because they ultimately want peace, they believe that the snuffing out of freedom is the only way to achieve it.

Despite the Christian crusaders they were in centuries past, they have become a largely atheistic organization, believing that God is just a myth. Though, they maintain a Christian/Catholic facade to keep the support of the Church.

They have been in a covert war with the Assassin Order that has spanned millenia. While the Assassins want freedom and individualism, the Templars want world domination and the complete absence of freedom for mankind.

The semi-nomadic Romani people seem to have a culture all their own. Many make the mistake of thinking that they're from Egypt but Romanis are from all corners of the world. Though, many have Middle Eastern blood but they are certainly not limited to that alone.

They consist of dancers, musicians, street performers, and fire breathers which gives them an air of mysticism and mystery. They are normally allied with the Assassin Order because of their free-spirited nature. The Assassins sometimes have the Romanis distract guards if they need to sneak by unseen.

Though they are primarily based in brothels throughout cities, many stand along the streets to seduce men and generate more business for the brothel. Many believe that a Courtesan's talents are limited to sexual talents only, but that is far from the truth. They are experts at concealing themselves in crowds, picking pockets, getting information, and their cleverness often rivals that of thieves.

Muscle for hire, these men(and sometimes women) use their brute strength and skill to make a living. Often hired for protection, for battles, for political gain, or simply for intimidation, they will do it all if the price is right. They mostly like to be a third-party entity that does not let morals get in the way of who they work for - so many of them are neutral on the Templar vs. Assassin scuffle. However, that is always subject to change based on the individual.

Light on their feet, quiet, and sly - with unmatched street smarts, thieves are a nuisance to many. Thieves follow a certain moral code. They never steal from the poor and killing is frowned upon. As such, they are allied with the Assassin Order, except for a few off-branches who might not be as kind. Either way, the world of thieves is a tight-knit one, as is the rest of the "underworld".

Just the people who are either oblivious to the Templar vs. Assassin war, or simply don't care what happens. Just regular people. They can be thieves, courtesans, or mercenaries as well, they just aren't associated with the guilds and are independent entities.
